Career Path
Junior athlete to
college or university athlete to professional athlete.
Junior athlete requires the talent and perseverence in order to get through
that stage. The earnings are very few, maybe some prizes at competitions or
paid travel. They must be dedicated to their sport and have really strong abilities
and strengths. They must practice daily, maintain a healthy body and train
constantly in order to keep up with the competition.
College or university athletes also do not earn anything but self-worth, accept
for the odd cash prizes, paid travel and accommodations. They must meet both
educational and physical requirements while training consistently and maintaining
a healthy body.
A professional athlete earns anywhere from $30 000 to $1 000 000. Their requirements
are to avoid physical injury at all costs and stay at the peak of their physical
and mental condition. The professional athlete must train always, travel constantly
and maintain their healthy state of the body.
Earnings
Professional athletes’ salary
varies from sport to sport and where the athlete stands in the valuable
scale. For an example, a hockey player known for beating the other
team single handedly is going to make way more than a golfer who can’t
make the par.
The minimum salary for a full time athlete entering the field is $45,000 a
year. However, few of those professional athletes get between the $1,000,000
and $2,000,000 range.
Professional athletes are paid according to their contract, a signed agreement
between the athlete and the manager/boss about how long he/she will play and
for how much. Sometimes the manager/boss will pay a player thousands of dollars
just for signing the contract. |
