Fashion... The word means different things to different people of the time. In the United States if one of our classmates wore a kilt to school or a high class event, it might be considered strange, but if you live in a place like Scotland, where wearing one for a important evening would be ordinary.

A clothes brand becomes popular when more people wear it. The brands of clothes that will be shown are the ones that most teens wear. For an example an actor or actress who is going to the Oscars (an award show) is going to wear designer clothes from a popular designer, such as Versaci and not clothes from Gap. To us fashion is what people are wearing and who's wearing it.

Individuality, mixing traditional with trendy is what makes someone stand out. Fashion is one of the main ways people express themselves. Everyone adds twists and signature styles to what they wear ; if other people like those twists it changes what people think about that article of clothing. Without originality and creativity fashion would be the same.

There are different styles of clothes you can wear to different events. From a Gucci shirt, a well known and high class designer, to an Abercrombie skirt, which is more a of a casual teen brand. All of our pictures have been organized into different areas of the site to show you what is average for an American student to wear.
