Geography

The geography of the United States is comprised of many different elements. There are the plains of Kansas, to the mountains of Colorado, to the ice of Alaska, to the deserts of Arizona. The U.S. is a country full of different (landforms and scenic views?) geographies. Of course, our country is huge, so I’ll just get to the general stuff.

These are the SanFrancisco Peaks. Flagstaff is located at the base of this mountain.

First of all, the highest point in the U.S. is Mount McKinely in Alaska at 20,320 ft (6,194 meters). The highest point on the continental United States is Mount Whitney, in California at 14,495 ft. (4,418 meters). The lowest point in the U.S. is in Death Valley, California at -282 ft (-86 meters) below sea level.

Death Valley located in California

Now, for extreme temperatures! The highest recorded temperature was in Death Valley at above 120° F (49° C). The lowest recorded temperatures are in Alaska at about -32° F (-35° C).
