Education in the United States.

Education in America is pretty standard all over the US and most of it is free! Elementary school is kindergarten through sixth grade.. Middle school is seventh and eighth grade most of the time, and the last group of free schooling is high school, ninth through twelfth In the United States, we call these years freshman (9) year, sophomore (10), junior (11), and senior (12) year.

After high school more schooling is an option, but sometimes at a price. If you are smart or play a sport you can get a scholarship into a college, meaning they pay for your schooling. Also you can just pay to get into the school of your choice if you meet certain requirements.. Some schools like Harvard and Yale, are veru difficult to get into and you have to be chosenl. You have to apply to enter all universities. Community colleges are a bit different.

Some of the subjects that are studied in American schools are science, social studies, English, math, physical education, art, music, band, auto shop, wood shop, foreign languages, and health. There is a law in the United States you have to go to school until your sixteen years old then you could drop out of school but we wouldn't advise you to drop out because you won't get a very good job.
