Students decided to created our own global communites after doing research on their habitats. Students in Bangladesh wrote stories and students in Maine drew their vision of the community described by their global classmates in Asia. Then the Maine students created an imaginary community for their Asian classmates to create a picture from. The purpose of the stories was to reinforce what would be in a community the weather, temperature, weather extremes, natural resources, landforms, government, utilities, school, sports, hobbies, attractions, types of employment, types of homes, and to have some fun creating a "Sweet Community." Maine students first drew their illustrations on paper and then drew them again using the Ultimate Writing and Creativity Center on the computer.
Here are the stories created by our Asian students in Bangladesh.
