Mme Boyd's Grade Six Class at Mary Queen of Peace School are working on a project with other Grade 6 students in Tainan City Hai-Tung Primary School in Taiwan and Holloway Middle School in Whitehouse, Texas.

All three classes are building a common web site on which they will compare their cultures.  MQP students kicked off the project by cooking Jigg's Dinner, a traditional Newfoundland and Labrador meal.  Parent volunteers helped out by doing the cooking while Mme Boyd's intensive French students talked about the ingredients, recipe, and cooking instructions in French.

The school's resource centre was transformed into a restaurant for the dinner and students, office staff, administrators, volunteers and students enjoyed it so much that there were no leftovers whatsoever.
