Cooking the Meal

A parent helps get the meal started by peeling and cutting up the ingredients.

The salt meat (called corned beef in other areas) has to be cooked well before adding the vegetables.

The potatoes are peeled and washed before cooking.  some are cut in half so all pieces are approximately the same size.

The cabbage is also cut into smaller pieces before cooking.

The salt meat boils while the parents prepare the vegetables for cooking.

Once the meat has been cooked the vegetables are added.
