St. Patrick's Day in Newfoundland

St. Patrick's Day  is celebrated on March 17 every year. It is a religious holiday mainly in Ireland and the east coast of Canada (New Brunswick Nova Scotia P.E.I and Newfoundland). The story tells us that St.Patrick was a priest who scared away lots of snakes on the shores of Dublin in the 5 century. People usually have pancakes and toutons with molasses and lots of irish drinks and food. The St. Patrick Day Parade in Ireland is a very big parade, celebrating their heritage. People usually wear green, and sometimes wear green hats. The main symbol of this holiday is a leprechaun a mythical creature created in Ireland. Usually people go to a special church on the at day in memory of St. Patrick. People also say that you can find a four leaf clover that will bring the person who finds it good luck. St. Patricks Day is a very Fun Holiday  which many people enjoy.
