Diamonds

The diamond is a mineral, a natural crystalline substance, the transparent form of pure carbon.   A diamond is likely the oldest thing you will ever own, probably 3 billion years in age, fully two-thirds the age of the Earth.   Diamond is a straight edged and high-tech super material for our technological society.

Did you Know:

•  That only another diamond can cut a diamond; no other source on earth can cut a diamond!

•  That a diamond is made from harden lava from a volcano, and then dug up from the ground.

•  Diamonds are graded looking at their clarity, cut,  and color.

Diamonds are used to make jewelery,  mostly diamond rings. They are also used to cut through hard objects, such as glass, metal, or themselves. They are also sometimes carved and used as decoration in your house.

Diamonds are found in volcanoes at the bottom of the earth, and are dug out by people.

Diamonds are non-renewable, and are very hard to find.
