Wild parrots were found in Telegraph Hill in San Francisco. The wild parrots were imported from South American and sold as pets. The people who bought them found that the wild birds hated being in cages. They were noisy and they bit. Some birds escaped and some were released by frustrated owners.

The parrots are red-masked parakeets. Their body has green feathers and their head has red feathers.

Some people in Telegraph Hill may be annoyed by the parrots and the squawking noises. But they are nice and sweet. People likes to watch them play, squawk, or fly to person for to feeding.

In Telegraph Hill, there is a man who has identified over 40 parrots and named them! Go look in Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill. How do you feel if you had named the parrots? I bet it is fun to see.
