The Otter in Sarah

by Sarah Smith

What animal are you? I'm an otter. That means I have a large family. I am not shy and friends flock to me for advice. I am smart and I love to solve puzzles too. Otters also live in a large family group. They also love to get to the bottom of puzzles and they are intelligent too.

I have many friends and I have large family. Some of my friends are Lark, Jay, and Anthony. I have five siblings and have about fifty cousins. Four of my siblings are half siblings though. Most of my family comes from my father’s side. Otters are social and often live a large family group. They are not shy. They can’t be because there are many otters in a raft of otters. They also have many sisters and brothers. Otters have many friends and are very social with them.

I will spend endless hours on puzzles. I like to do logic puzzles. I think they are challenging. I also like to do jig saw puzzles. However, I can only do them if they have less than 150 pieces. They love to solve puzzles. They are curious about puzzles from nature. They can solve the puzzles from nature. They even solved one about octopus’s favorite place by diving and finding cans full of them.

I am very smart and am in Pre-algebra. I am in the seventh grade. I can read at ninth grade level and sometimes at tenth grade level. I am supposed to be in eighth grade. However, I have lousy grammar when I write on the paper. Otters are intelligent. They are the only animals beside primates to use tools. They use rocks to open oysters. Otters can also pick locks. They can also figure out difficult puzzles.

I have told you the three things that are similar with me and otter. I have a large family and am very social just like the otter. I also love to do puzzles just like they do. Otters and I also are intelligent. I am almost like them expect, they have fur and I don’t.
